Senior Data Engineer

Kevala is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with extensive experience in Python, Airflow, dbt, and BigQuery. The candidate should also have familiarity with electric utility data and distribution infrastructure, data warehouse experience, and an understanding of data governance.

What you will be doing

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable data pipelines using Python, Airflow, and dbt.
  • Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Professional and Advisory Services, and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Utilize tools such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery to manage the organization’s data sets.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through the use of quality checks and validation.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and application engineers on several projects.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Software Developer, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, Airflow, dbt, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and BigQuery.
  • Experience in data warehousing, architecture, and data modeling.
  • Understanding of data governance.
  • Experience with electric utility data and electric power distribution infrastructure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.

What will make you stand out

  • A passion for addressing climate change through clean energy is essential. Prior experience in
    clean tech or climate tech is a plus.

The salary range for this role is $135,000 to $160,000.

This is a fully remote role which can be located anywhere within the United States. Please note, actual salaries may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, education, experience, and location.
